Tanabe's Subaru STi downpipe embraced features unlike any other downpipe tested. To add to the divorced wastegate and factory-style donut fl ange, Tanabe differed by incorporating a brace to stabilize the unit in place. Constructed from high-grade SUS304 stainless-steel, Tanabe's STi downpipe sports an 80mm diameter for optimal power gains.
With the Tanabe downpipe in place, power was once again brought up signifi cantly. A peak gain of 15.4 horsepower was seen. While additional power was recorded from 2,000 rpm all the way to redline, the most power was gained from approximately 3,900 rpm to 5,500 rpm. Torque was also increased throughout the graph with the most made in the mid-range from 3,500 rpm until 5,500 rpm. Peak torque was posted by an additional 15.9 lb/ft of torque. Tanabe's downpipe system jumped the STi's power output to 274.4 whp and 259.0 lb/ft of torque.
