PN# XBD1-SU, Spartan DE Type I
The first muffler to meet the xB was
JIC's Spartan DE Type I. Constructued
of highly polished stainless steel,
the unit was an excellent fit at the
flange and in the bumper outlet.
An adjustable clamp style hanger
insured proper "fine tuning" of the
outlet positioning; complete install
took about five minutes.
After warmup, the JIC unit turned
the wheels to a peak of 97.71 WHP
and 102.23 lb/ft TQ. A cursory glance
at the numbers show only a >1 WHP
peak increase and 1.70 lb/ft TQ
increase. However, examining the
overlay graph reveals the low/mid-low
power, from about 3000-3500 RPM,
increased approximately 2 WHP, and
again from about 4000 RPM to 5500
RPM, where the power gain reached
almost +4 WHP. |
